In five years time my life can be very different. Now I'm studying corporate communication. My life can go two ways in five years I think. This is one way. My course is very interesting and it goes very well. It's not very challenging but I want to finish this course. I hope to be graduated in four years. In those years I want to have a nice internship, my own room in Utrecht, still have nice friends, learn a lot and we very happy. After graduation I'm going to do admission for art school in Rotterdam. But not for a fulltime course, but for a parttime course. Studying is very expensive so I want to work and study at the same time then. I want to study advertising and graphic design. Those courses are together in a parttime course for four years.
The other way my life can go is different. The course I'm doing now is great and very interesting, but I want to do more creative things and I want to design more than I'm doing now. So this year I'm going to do admission for art school in Rotterdam. That will be for the course advertising. In March I'm going to the school and talk about my choices en wishes. I will be studying there in Rotterdam when I'm admitted there. The course is four years, so I hope I will be graduated in five years then. There is also a chance that I'm not going to be admitted for art school. Then I'm going to finish the course corporate communication and study art school after that as I told before. It is still not clear what I'm going to study next year. I will see. My life can be like a designer, but maybe I'm going to change my mind in a few years and then I'll become a writer or a photographer. I'm not very sure of what my life will be like in five years.

Living at home while at uni
I am still living at home in Bennekom with my mother and younger brother. I travel to school. When I have to be at school at half past 8 I have to wake up at a quarter past 6. Very early. Then I'll take the train at half past 7. It isn't very comfortable and handy.
But living at home also has advantages. When I come home I can get a drink and just relax. No shopping, washing machines, washing up and cleaning for me. Of course I also do something at home like vacuuming, let out the dog and clean my room.
Luckily I only have to go to school for 3 days now. And only 1 time at half past 8, happy me. But the traveling isn't very relaxed. It's always busy and it takes a lot of time. I prefer to sleep a little longer. My bed is very important for me. The way back is the most annoying and boring. I just want to be home after school and do things I like. But now I have to go to the train, and after that cycle home. It takes almost 1,5 hours.

My first half year at the HU
My first half year at the University of applied sciences in Utrecht was really fun.
I met a lot of new people en they are all very nice. My classmates are fun and I really like the course.
The first half year wasn't very hard for me. I just did my homework, did what I had to do and that resulted in very high grades. I'm very happy with my results. I'd like all the classes, my favourite classes are the 'creative' classes. We had to make a website for example, and I really like doing that. I made a portfoliosite, with my photographs and other work on it.

I also really like to write. For school we have to write news messages, letters, interviews and more. I really liked learning to write those. Practicing my interview skills is what I liked most. But we have to learn to write all kind of texts and I'm very curious to be a good writer.
In the second period we also had to make a company magazine. We had to do it in groups, and it was a very instructive and amusing assignment. The magazine had to be for our course: business communication. I was in a group of five students, and we all had to write one article. I made the design for our magazine and I think it turned out pretty well. We don't have our grades yet, so I'm very excited about them.

Besides that school is great, I'm thinking of switching to art school next year. I would really like to follow the course advertising at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam. But I hope this period will be as great as the first ones, because I really like this course at the HU.

Keep on doing your homework and make a planning. It's not nice doing everything in the last week. I experienced that in this half year.

Lowlands!
Last summer I've been to Lowlands. That is a festival in Holland.
It was so much fun! The weather was so good, we had so much sunshine and it was hot!
We saw many good bands, I love all the music that was played there.
We were sleeping in tents, our tent was orange. On this photo you see my boyfriend in front of our tent.
We enjoyed the weather and the music. The music was played in tents like this:
There were so many bands I wanted to see. One of them was 'Mumford and Sons'. They were amazing, their concert was so beautiful. I wanted them to play for hours, but they just played 1 hour.
I also wanted to see Laura Marling. She is a singer-songwriter from England. I'm listening to her music for more than 3 years and I really wanted to hear her live. It was great, she played the most beautiful songs. Some other bands I've seen were Selah Sue, Noisia, Local Natives, Bloody Beetroots, Daily bread, Moss, The National, Two door cinema club, Blaudzun and more.
We spent our days just chilling in the grass, enjoyed very good music and had great food.
I love festivals, especially when the weather is so good! I've had a good time there, I wanted to go back now! We had so much fun!
On this photo we were just sitting in front of our tents, thinking about what we were going to do this night. We were all happy and laughing. On monday, the day of going back home, we woke up and it was raining. We had to pack our bags, and take our wet tent. It was very busy at the trainstation, but inside the train it was warm and dry. Time for a hot shower and some sleep!

Assignment 10: business meeting
- I am proud of our magazine. I sent out a questionnaire after the first two issues this year and the replies were very positive. 65% of the readers read most of the articles, that's a lot! And only 500 of the 3000 employess sent the questionnaire back. I think our employees are very satisfied with our magazine.
- I want to improve internal communication. But there has to be more practical information. The also has to be a 'newsflash'. The newsflash had to be published once a month or once every two weeks. The newsflash is for up-to-the-minute news and new appointments, orders and products. That is very usefull for our employees.
- I am not really happy with creating an intranet. I don't have any axperience in writing for websites. I just want to write atricles and take photo's.
